CARACTERÍSTICAS PECULIARES
HISTORIA NATURAL
Habita matorrales montanos aridos y semiaridos o pequeños bosques montanos. Su dieta se basa principalmente en nectar de las flores como el agave y cactus, pero también consume pequeños artrópodos. Pone 2 huevos por nidada. Generalmente es de color verde bronce oscuro, más gris en las partes inferiores; el macho tiene una gran gorguera violeta rosada y el gorjal de la hembra es más pequeño.
