CARACTERÍSTICAS PECULIARES
HISTORIA NATURAL
Habita pastizales de páramo, matorral árido montano y campos agrícolas adyacentes serranos, generalmente cerca del agua, especialmente pantanos y arroyos. Su dieta se basa principalmente de invertebrados como escarabajos, moscas, raramente de semillas. Pone de 2 a 3 huevos. Construye su nido en el suelo, en la base o dentro de las matas de yuyos, es redondeado y emplea pastos. No son migratorias. No presenta dimorfismo sexual y es monógama.
